Summary of Essential Duties
The Advisor is the cornerstone of the financial planning relationship and must demonstrate a broad base of knowledge across all functions of financial planning, including planning, investments, insurance, tax management, retirement analysis and estate planning. This person is responsible for developing, supporting and managing client relationships. This person is comfortable interacting with clients, with an emphasis on ability to communicate planning concepts and address client needs. Organizational skills and attention to detail are critical given the nature of the position and work. An Advisor demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills, technical expertise and the ability to effectively manage client relationships. The ability to effectively prioritize workloads and complete tasks within well-defined guidelines and time constraints is essential. Advisors think both strategically and tactically, identify solutions appropriate for each client’s situation and design, implement and manage the financial planning process. New business development is a primary function of the position. Additionally, Advisor is responsible for the completion of the essential duties and responsibilities outlined below:

Outcome
A successful Advisor will:
• Spend at least 50% of time in “revenue-producing” activities and make constant and observable contributions to the growth and development of the firm
• Ensure new and current clients are provided the best possible service and experience
• Help meet defined new client goals while following firm standards of practice

Leadership
• Work in cooperation with the managing partners to evaluate business financial decisions and drive progress towards business financial goals
• Work in cooperation with all team members to see that firm processes are being managed and policies are being adhered to
• Establish rules and standards for general business and financial operations and communicate firm financial goals
• Participate as needed in the following areas of firm management and administration: Business Development, Business Management and Administration, Business Strategy and Planning, Strategic Alliances and Operations

General Administrations
• Update processes/procedures related to the advisor position
• Assist in updating department processes or processes for direct reports
• Follow firm policies and procedures
• Complete back-up duties as assigned
• Support general administrative needs as necessary
• Support firm-wide culture of compliance by meeting all duties and following all policies and procedures

Client Service
• Serve as primary contact for client relationships
• Coordinate with the team to direct the elements of the Total Client Experience
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide advice/recommendations
• Direct team on completion of client service requests utilizing Redtail CRM

Business Development
• Conduct prospect meetings
• Support business development activities to promote firm growth
• Retain client relationships and meet annual business development goals
• Follow up on qualified prospects
• Conduct and support the preparation of client events
• Develop and maintain strategic alliances
• Represent the firm within the financial services community
• Utilize creative thinking skills to search for new workable ideas and solutions and involve the team in the process to develop efficient and effective teamwork

Fianancial Planning and Investment Process
• Conduct client meetings independently, including client review, analysis, and presentation of financial planning, insurance, and investment recommendations
• Develop and present client financial plans appropriate to individual client situations and in line with the firm’s planning processes, investment methodology, and the CFP® 7-step Financial Planning Process
• Review client situations, goals, and needs
• Present financial planning findings and investment recommendations to clients
• Review all client insurance coverage and present analysis and recommendations to the assigned client base
• Analyze new insurance products and strategies for possible incorporation into the firm’s product offerings
• Drive the successful completion of all outstanding client planning issues and address new ones as they arise
• Collaborate and coordinate with clients’ trusted advisors to deliver thoughtful and holistic advice, recommendations and service
• Provide training and mentoring to team members in areas of financial planning and business development

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Required Qualifications
• CFP® certification required
• 4-year college degree (Business Desired)
• Series 65 license and state health, life, disability, and variable annuity licenses
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the advisor role
• Willing to travel up to 25% of the time
• Independent-minded, free-thinking problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficient in planning and investment software such as eMoney and Holistiplan

Perfered Qualifications
• Experience with industry-standard CRM system
• Experience managing/training a team

Physical Demands
• There is little to no exposure to hazardous environmental conditions
• Moderate noise (examples: business office with computers and printers, light traffic)
• There are no special vision requirements for this position
